Today's Flowers

I don’t know what this little flower is. Until I showed it to someone and had told me it is a white angel. It was growing at the flower box located at the corner side of the building premises of the hospital. I was glad to have it photographed and shared it with you.

Today's Flowers

Today is Valentine's Day which of course makes us think of love, romance and of course, flowers! And because heart is the symbol of love, I am very glad to share with you this heart shaped flower arrangement displayed at the hospital lobby.

This flower arrangement composed of fresh red and white malaysian mums was the centerpiece last Monday, February 07.

And when Thursday came, I was so excited to see once again the newly arranged flowers at the lobby.  As I walked in to check it out, I saw the flowers are all new but the heart-shaped arrangement is still the same. They  used different kinds of flowers - anthuriums (spadices were cut off), gerbera daisies, gladiolas and chinese asters.

I have met the flower designer that day and had a short conversation with her. I asked her to name a few flowers which unknown to me. I'm grateful for her kindness in sharing me such information.

Sky Watch Friday

I got these photos from my photo folder. These were taken last May 2007 when we had our department summer outing at Subic Bay, Zambales. We were on the long road of SCTX (Subic Clark Tarlac Expressway) going back to Manila when I watched the sky and have it photographed.

Today's Flowers

I found these beautiful flowers arranged and displayed at the lobby of Institute of Medicine building last January 14 when the FEU-NRMF Medical Alumni Society, Inc. celebrates its 35th Annual Alumni Homecoming Scientific Convention and Golden (Class 1960) and Silver (Class 1984) Jubilee. I took the chance to have it photographed before it will dry up and drop off.

Distinguished by their large, beautiful blooms and wide assortment of vibrant colors, gerbera daisies have become a favorite flower choice for expressing cheerful sentiments. The traditional flower meanings for the gerbera daisy, however, are beauty and innocence.

Orchid is the most highly coveted of ornamental plants, the delicate, exotic and graceful orchid represents love, luxury, beauty and strength.

While they resemble smaller versions of many lily varieties, Peruvian lilies, also known as alstroemeria, have many distinctive qualities of their own. If you’re looking for flower meanings like friendship and devotion, Peruvian lilies are the choice for you.

Thanks to Mr. Luis Santili Jr. and  the rest of his team for this wonderful meme especially for Ms. Valkyrien for asking me if I would like to be guest friend on Today's Flowers site. I am very glad and honored to be one. To join, just click here.

Sky Watch Friday

When I found this Sky Watch Friday meme involving the sky, I'm so excited to share my photos I have in my photo gallery.

Pictures were taken last summer of 2008 in Batangas when I joined the Medical Library outing.

After the 2 days outing, we drove to Tagaytay to enjoy the scenic view of the place and its invigorating climate.

I have captured this spectacular view of Taal lake and volcano.
